A couple of weeks ago I got two HS105 Smart Wi-Fi Mini Plugs (Version 1) from Amazon. Today I received a 3rd HS105, but Version 2. Does anyone know how versions differ?

Now that is very interesting Cause I have 3 of the HS105 all are plagued with network dropping issue. Every 2-3 days the Plus fall off the network with a solid amber light and then to resolve it I have to manually unplug and re plug the hs105 to the wall outlet. Can you tell me IF your HS105 version 2 have the same problem or not and also what is the firmware version ?

My all HS105 are Hardware ver 1 and firmware version 1.1.3 (Which has a problem of getting offline)

Hmmm, I have two V1 HS105, both running v1.0.6 firmware, and the app says they're up-to-date.

Hi CDBMA

So I used windows computer to update my firmware Since the app does NOT show the latest firmware to update

Here is the link http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-949.html

You will need to download this PC app in able to install a latest firmware and yes My question was exactly the same whats on your mind how would we know there was a firmware update to begin with ...

Anyhow..Bill can you let us know if that Version 3 is on the kasa app under hardware or just on the box.

Because my box says ver 2 however under kasa app I see Hardware version 1.0 and also can someone confirm if someone else is also having the same issue as I am having of it keep on getting disconnected from the Network every 2-3 days ...

Thanks !

CDBMA - Side note mine is still falling off the network after the updated firmware 1.1.3 .. So After contacting TP LINK they had me do a reset after the firmware .. Its has not been 3 days yet after the reset I will let you know if that helps or not.

Thanks !

Now that's interesting looks like they updated the firmware again only on hs105 hope it corrects the problem of network disconnect now Only problem I see now is seems like Windows app also doesn't tell the latest firmware in able to find out you have to download this iot software from tp link site hit scan and upgrade that's the only way to check now that clearly sux I did had the software sitting on my desktop it didn't tell me about 1.2.1 until you posted I downloaded software again from tp link and checked and sure enough it was there

I'm just experimenting with my 3 HS105s. My purpose in purchasing is to replace my mechanical timers. The HS105 may be the solution. Getting better & better understanding how to use Schedule & Away features. Kasa APP shows all of my HS105s to be hardware version 1.0 and firmware version 1.0.6 and says my firmware is up-to-date. I'm using an Apple iMac desktop and iPad Mini along with LG smartphone. Once again labels on 2 boxes say V1 with third box labeled V2.

The windows app is crude, and I got an error, even though it updated the firmware. No idea why the kasa app said I was up to date on a prior version. This is all looking a bit Mickey Mouse. I hope things tighten up on tplink's side. Too many competitors to stick with mediocrity.
