Hi

I have 2x HS105 connected to Amazon Echo Dot.

After a number of hours both stoped working and had an orange light. Alexa nor Kasa app sees them.
I had to unplug both and plug them again to get them online again.

I am wondering what is wrong and why they disconnected.

Thanks

A solid orange light indicates no network connection. Perhaps you have a marginal wifi signal. As a test, try moving the plug and router closer together, and see if the modules are more stable.

A solid light also means that the module is initializing, but that could be due to losing the network connection.

Well, I tried that but it did not workI have update the firmware and put them 5m from the router but after a few days they disconnect.

I have 2 and one of them has the solid orange light and the other does not. I am waiting for the 2nd one to have it now but it feels like buggy.

I have 2x HS100 and they work all the time.

I am almost sure there is no issue with the Wifi but with the devices.

Any other test I can do?

Thanks

Next time it happens try rebooting the router. If they come back at that point it's a connection resource problem and you may need to reboot your router occasionally.

hi Jorge, check the signal strengthen and if possible, try a different channel on the router.
If still no lucks. it is suggested to contact tp-link email support.

I will try the router channel.

Restarting the router every 2 days is not an acceptable solution, honestly, when everything else works fine.

My concern is that I have 2 units and I think only one is buggy:

It wasn't intended to be a fix, you asked for any other tests - this is one way to isolate the problem. Though if it is the problem many routers do have a way to schedule reboots. BTW, the switches use a protocol that many other devices that do not.

But it's less relevant if you're having trouble with only one and not the other. Possibly the wifi in the non-working switch is marginal and moving it closer to the router might help it stay connected.

Understood... My concern is that the 2 HS105 fail once in a while while the HS100 does not.

Now the HS105 are closer, like 5 feet from the router but still the same. Wondering if they are more sensitive or just buggy.
The HS100 is in the master bedroom and works all the time, probably 40feet far from the router including 2 walls.

Are they really so different?
Do you suggest I request a change?

Thanks

If you're having the same problem with both I'd look for a network configuration problem. Not that you're doing anything wrong, these devices can be a little fussier than many others. Setting the 2.4GHz wifi to 20Mhz width (no turbo), mixed mode, WPA2, ideally channel 6 seems to help, as does an occasional reboot of the router if you haven't tried that yet.

If only one is problematic I'd try to get it exchanged you've isolated the problem to that device.

The HS105 is obviously a different footprint from the HS100's (which I find to be very stable too) so I suspect different hardware but someone from TP Link would be better to answer that.
