Using the Kasa Debug App

You may at times, be provided a debug app when troubleshooting unexpected behaviors and working with our teams. The debug app will not fix any issues or behaviors but allows our teams to better see and troubleshoot what you have reported.

Normally, links to the debug app will be provided via message or email, so please avoid using publicly available debug apps from the past – as the debug app is often updated.

Notes When Downloading the Android Debug App

1. Please DO NOT just click the download link provided for the Debug app, but copy and paste the link into your address bar.

If you just click the download link, it may show the following page.

2. This APP is secure. But since it was not downloaded from the official APP store, your phone may think it is insecure. If it requests installation permission, please agree.

3. After the Tapo Android Debug App is installed, the APP name is Tapo Trial, not Tapo.

4. The basic functions of Tapo Trial are exactly the same as the original Tapo app, except that the Debug log and log export functions are added.
