I've changed multiple simple light switches in my house before but this is the first light switch I've seen with 4 wires (2 black, 1 green, 1 white). Also, I can't afford to hire a professional so I am just getting tips on how to replace it my self. Hopefully, it is doable.

You only have one wire coming into this box? Then it's "power through fixture" (try a google search) and you don't have a neutral wire. You can't use the switch there without violating the electrical code in most countries. You'd be forced to connect the neutral (white) wire to ground, line in to white (if it's wired properly) and switched out to black. It can be dangerous to use ground for neutral.
