Hi all. I know it’s bad to plug a surge protector into another surge protector as that could start fires.

But is it safe for a single smart plug like the KP100 to remain plugged into a surge strip and be okay? Thanks.

@Snore719

The KP100 is not a surge protector.

And pluging one surge protector into another will not cause a fire.

The smart devices are just passthroughs. The plug will either cut electricity or have it run through. You can place the smart plug on a surge protector if you would like. The one thing to note is that the max load is 15 amps so what ever plan to draw from the plug, make sure it does not pass that to avoid issues.
