Model: HS220
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.3

I'm having a problem getting an hs220 dimmer working. I installed the switch with load to load, line to line, neutral to neutral and ground to ground. Upon restoring power the Wi-Fi symbol flashes orange and green and I am able to start the setup process. When I get to the naming screen the switch starts rebooting itself in a loop of about 30 seconds. I have to submit the name 5-6 times before it is accepted. Once the setup is complete the switch goes on and offline in the app. On the switch, the Wi-Fi symbol is solid green but every 30 seconds goes out, flashes once orange and then goes back to solid green. I tried a second hs220 and get the same problem but I also have an hs200 and it works perfect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

@Doomstare

[UPDATE] After several troubleshooting methods I finally got it working but still have a problem. It appears the HS220 doesn't like my wifi password. I set up a guest network and a short password to test and it connected fine right away. So now my problem is the switch is out there on my guest network and unable to connect to my main network. I have way too many 2.4 devices to go change the password on all of them to accommodate the HS220. If anyone from TP-Link is out there, is there a firmware update coming at all to possibly address this issue? Thanks

I am not sure about a firmware update, but the switch automatically sets up a remote connection so you will still have full control over it regardless. Your switch does not need to be on the local network.

@Tony

Upon further testing by switching my ASUS router from AUTO to Legacy for Wireless Mode I was able to connect to the main network and everything worked. Unfortunately this drags the whole 2.4 network to a max of 54 Mbps which I can't have. Any reason these new modern switches need legacy Wi-Fi support? Thanks

@Doomstare

hi. You mentioned you got it working after some troubleshooting. May I ask how you solved the issue? I'm having a similar issue.

@DRiFT_645

I had to change the wireless mode to legacy on my ASUS router. Caused to whole network to slow down to 54 Mbps. Ended up returning the switch.
