HS220 Hardware Vers 2 Switches Periodically Dim Then Come Back Up but Not HS220 Hardware Version 1's
I have several Kasa smart dimmers. I recently received the new hardware versions with 2.0 and firmware 1.0.3. The issue with these newer models I have found is that they periodically drop to the lowest dim and then back up to whatever you have your highest setting at. The older HS220 models with hardware version 1.0 firmware version 1.5.11 do not have this problem. If you are not aware of the issue please have a tech look into updating the firmware. I notice this issue because I have a dozen switches that I can see the difference in how these two models are reacting. There are no other changing variables except the difference in the two models.

Thanks for the reply but I did reach out to support and they were unable to assist. I have 6 HS220 switches now that are useless to me. I'd be more that happy for you to refund me the cost and I'll send them to you for testing.

I also have this exact issue. My v1 HS220 works fine while my v2 randomly dims and then comes back. Seems to be related with issues that are affecting my v3 HS200 switches and KS103 plugs and KP400 plugs. All my old KS200, KS210, KS220, and KS100 switches work just fine, it's just all the newer stuff is flaky.

Same issue for me. I have multiple HS220's hardware version 2.0, firmware version 1.0.3, they both dim and come back up periodically. I've recalibrated them several times and they still do this. I definently won't be buying any more Kasa products unless tp-link does something to fix this.

@GABB5683
I installed my 1st HS220, FW 1.0.5 and it's happening to me.
I have TP-Link CAP245's, about 6 HS200's and the HS220 connecting to a single SSID on one of the CAP's.
Yes, CAP245's - TPlink warranty replaced my EAP245 v1's with those terds. They don't even have DST settings!
