I cannot even get any blinking light to my switch. It also does not turn my light on and off when I press the button (without connecting to wifi).

i used a voltmeter and I do have power to the switch. 
 

in my original non-smart switch setup, I had 4 wires:

- 2 black live wires connected to the switch

- 1 black wire connected to a screw on the switch (this would be ground)

- a bunch of white wires connected together but not connected to the switch. They were stuffed at the back. (These are the neutral wires)

So now with the smart switch, I connected each of the two black live wires to the live wires on the switch. I connected the ground and neutrals to the ground and neutral on the switch respectively. See pic below.

when I turn the power back on, I don't see any blinking light and I cannot manually turn the ceiling light on and off either. Seems like a connection issue but I don't know what could have gone wrong. It seemed so straightforward....
