Model: KS230 KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: V1.8

Hi, I have issues wiring my KS230 Kit.

I borrowed this from another forum.  I can't determine how this is wired or how to wire it to make it work with the KS230 Kit. I have a voltage tester to test all the wires and this is what I'm observing. I thought 2 Cable Wire on the left was from the power source, but i'm not certain because the Black (Line?) is not hot. I also assume the white wire on the 3 way cable wire is also hot. But it's all bundled together with other white wires. Surprisingly none of the black wires are hot. This was observed when all the switches are disconnected.

This is how it is originally wired and it worked without issues. I have four other 3 way switches and the dimmer is always on the side with multiple wires. Traveler 1 (red wire) is only hot the left side, not the right side.

I manage to solve the wiring issue and now all 6x 3-way switches are working absolutely perfectly without issues. This was especially difficult to figure out as the TP-LINK 3-way switch during setup focused on a traditional setup. They should have listed alternative setups based on voltage tester readings. I had a non-traditional setup and the KS230 KIT works beautifully now.

I only manage to figure this out because I was about to give up and was using a competitor 3 way dimmer switch in what I thought was the wrong box. I hope this helps someone else. These are great switches now.
