I am a new user to Home Assistant and have really enjoyed the flexibility it give. I would love to see Kasa and Tapo have official support on this platform. It would make integration alot smoother and easier.
This is something that we often see requested, and I am continuing to pass the feedback along - especially as Home Assistant begins to grow in popularity.
Fortunately, we are seeing a renewed interest in standardized protocols for our Smart Home product lines, whether it be through the Matter Protocol or via ONVIF/RTSP for cameras - both of which have native support in Home Assitant. It may be worth revisiting the request after we see how Matter is developed and rolled out (We are still missing some basic features in the protocol such as energy monitoring). After we see how these local-based integrations are implemented, an official home assistant integration may not be needed.
