Model: Tapo P115
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 240523 Rel.175054

I have 8 Tapo P115 Mini Smart Wi-Fi Plugs. Each individual device works flawlessly with Google Home and Google Assistant on iPhones, iPads, Google Nest Hubs and Nest Minis. However, Google Home and Google Assistant would not recognize any Tapo group names. I have 4 P115 smart plugs in a group, created by Tapo app on iPhone. These names do not appear in Google Home app, even after unlinking and linking Tapo from Google Home app or after telling Google Assistant to "Sync my devices".

Is this a bug, or is there steps I can take to enable Google Home to recognize Tapo device group names?

This issue resolved when my Nest WiFi router went offline for 30-minutes and forced the two Nest Hub Display devices to resync with all devices when the WiFi network came back online (I am speculating - I have no logs to validate and only saw the Google Nest Hub Displays taking long time re-sync'ing before returning to their normal operation). When the Internet access resumed my iPhone's Google Home app was showing all the Tapo group names and Google Assistant everywhere was able to recognize those group names.

So, in summary, the original issue appears to be on Google/Nest side, and it was nothing to do with Tapo devices or services.
