This is the only reason I cannot recommend this camera to anyone else that intends to use it outside of the TP-Link ecosystem - it's a shame because it is an excellent device and well priced. Locking out all the features like this on serves negativity towards the product which it doesn't really deserve.

@Kevin_Z The "near future" is in weeks or months?

Because this question was asked a few month ago and still doesn't have a reply yet.

I just bought a Tapo C200 and I'm gonna return it very soon if I find that I can't use the PTZ on external software.

I bought it yesterday and I will also return it. Trying to force buyers of your camera to use your software, not because it is better than other programs, but because you deliberately crippled usability of the camera for third party software, is not acceptable.

@mawa I bought one piece and it's okay, however, the lack of TPZ greatly limits the functionality with other software. I would buy two more, but when TPZ is available. I think that would convince others to buy this camera because it is cheap and has good image quality and good night mode. Best regards.

@mawa kept mine but not buying any products from a vendor that doesnt support these open standards.  Already returned 2 othert tplink products and where as they used to be a goto vendor for solutions they are now much lower on nthe options list.  The lowest possibles levels of compliance with OVNIF/RTSP and bound to a dedicated app.  They could learn a few things from the likes of amcrest and foscam which is where I'll now be looking for my cameras.  Missed opportunity by TP-LINk to capture a growing market.  Their loss.

Using Netcam Studio with this camera and no PTZ means I will not recommend this camera to anyone else.
