Future Consideration Deco app missing "Internet Speed Test"
I recently purchased the Deco X20 to acommodate a 1gig fiber install. I was referred to the Deco X20 by a friend who has a similar setup. On his app he is able to check the speed of the main Deco remotely via his app when he goes to more, and then internet speed test. My app does not show that feature. Is it hidden somewhere in the newer version of the app?

Hi, for the Deco X20 V2, It does not support "Test Internet Speed" under Deco APP>More.
You could go to Deco APP>Overview>three lines on the top left>Deco Lab>Wi-Fi assistant>Test speed.
For V1 and V1.2, This feature are still supported..

This is not a relevant response; the "Test Speed" function in the Wifi assitent tests the speed to your mobile phone whereas this question is about the "Test Internet Speed" function in the Deco App, which tests the speed that your internet provider brings in your home (Main Deco to Internet provider Router).

@TP-Link I'm highly disappointed that the speed test function was removed, as it was very informative to be able to verify that actual speed coming to the base router from my ISP. Wireless speed can be tested from any wireless device but the ability to use the Deco App to test the incoming ISP was one of the selling points for me. If that is not a feature that comes back, I will be choosing a different system on my next upgrade. I have the Deco V20 mesh system at three different location and only one location has the ability to check ISP speed. #DISAPPOINTED!

If I am not mistaken, to have that feature enabled Deco mesh only requires Main Deco capable of running speed test. Check your locations: if you happened to have more than one X20 versions V1 and V1.2, make them Main Deco at each of locations.
This may give you some extra time to look for a different brand of WiFi mesh.

Why has been "canceled" or removed in the first place?
It is a very important feature to have of someone is monitoring a network remotely (like the network of aging parents living separately) to know the state of the broadband speed health.
You need to put this back in the tools rightaway.

@dblack168 I can not agree more. I just bought XE75 to add my existing 3 Deco M9 plus, 2 Deco P7 system to my summer house but I will return it back. Knowing the internet speed remotely is one of the main feature that I am using to check the stability of internet speed.

Testing the Internet Speed Remotely was very helpful and useful.
Can we request to have this feature "re-instated"?
The testing option in the WiFi Assistant will only test from the mobile device and not directly from the Deco itself.
This feature was great because it eliminated any factors that can give you an accurate meter for your Internet connection going into the Deco.
I have installed many of these Decos in over 25 different locations and have will have to consider switching to a different brand.
What was the reasoning for removing this feature?
