Model: Adapter
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hello,

I own a AX11000, wich is equiped with beta FW : https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/272492?page=1

My internetspeed is 200Mbps up and down.(fiber internet)

When i run a speedtest on the AX11000 i get 18Mbps down and 230Mbps up

Either with vpn client enabled or not, the results are the same.

When i run a speedtest on the laptop W/O vpn the results are similair.

However, with VPN, i get  17Mbps down and 100Mbps up.

Does a mesh extender solves that?

If no, what is the angle of the very mesh extender? What does it do?

Hmmmm...

Back to Windows 10 ever since a few hours.

Now the upload is nearly about 170Mbps.

Strange.

Hello  @AX11000

Thank you for the inquiry. Wi-Fi range extender is mainly used to extend Wi-Fi signal to Wi-Fi dead spots, not to boost speed.

OneMesh helps improve performance in wifi roaming when wireless device move between different AP, it's almost ' seamless'

As RE receive signal from router and repeats the wifi signal, RE speed is slower than router's WiFI.

You may start a thread in router subforum for slow speed and provide case details like the wifi link speed, which band, what device etc so moderator  there could help take a further look into that. Hope this helps.

Btw, if router's wired speed is fine, you may connect a AP, or setup RE into AP mode to extend the network.
