ER605 V2 Random rebooting.

 

I kept on having problems with intermediate reboot of the ER605 router. After some investigation it seems to me it was not random.

 

The "Intermediate reboot"  seems to me goes together with

1) Services ->  Reboot schedule.

2) Reboot Schedule goes together with the System tool -> time setting

3) Time setting goes together with NPC server or PC time.

 

If there is for one or the other reason after reboot  no correct new time set for the router, the ER605 will go to a default time setting -> for my system it is 01/01/2018 00:00 ( and counting)

When your ER605  is set for a daily reboot at 1:00 in the night. Your system will reboot  1hour + few minutes (reboot) and it will keep on doing this every time because your internal clock is reset to 01/01/2018 00:00 and 1hour + few minutes (reboot) it starts again.

 

 

Anybody has simular experience?

Did you use ER605 in Standalone mode?

Could you please share a screenshot of Time Settings in the System Tools Section?

If you refresh the page of ER605 web interface, can it fix?

 

Please note the time settings will be recovered to default one after rebooting if you set it as Manually.

So it doesn't suggest setting it as Manually if the ER605 needs to be rebooted frequently.

Solved no problem wanted to share my finding. very happy to work with the TP link products. now installing OC300 with SX3008f 2x . VPN on the ER605 I'm not sure what the speed will be.

Hi Hank, ER605 V2 2.2.0 Build 20230629 Rel.64012 Did an upgrade yesterday of my ER605 V2 everything was normaly executed. No problem for the update. But after validation of the VPN connections there seems to be a problem. I have no control over my VPN client and server anymore. I created Client to Site => Open VPN server Client to Site => Open VPN clients with NordVPN Fixed IP Both connections worked very good before the upgrade. But now something is wrong. Seems to me that the ER605 is not under control of the OC300 and VPN is not under control anymore. Did a reboot of the complete system and reinstalled the VPN clients but seems the same. Any suggestions? Kind regards, Benny.
