Model: Archer C1200
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.0.8 Build 20211219 Rel. 66975 (US)

Hi,

I am unable to connect to the 2G network on my WiFi Router after upgrading the firmware to Archer C1200 V3, 3.0.8 Build 20211219 Rel. 66975 (US). Earlier in V2, we had both 2.4G and 5G networks available but now with this upgrade we can only find and connect to 5G network. Is this an issue with the firmware? should we expect a patch release or we have to downgrade to V2?

Please advise.

Thanks

Harish

Hi,

If your router is indeed an Archer C1200 V2 and you updated it with a firmware designated for the Archer C1200 V3, then this is likely the reason why the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is not working now.

Before you take further steps have a look at the sticker on the underside of the router to re-confirm the actual hardware version.

Whether this particular router model would allow you to downgrade to a firmware version 2.x.x I don't know.

Most TP-Link router models would not, but some models seem to be less restrictive in this regard.
