Hi @drbanan

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

  @Clive_A ISP is 2/1 on #1, on #2 i had either my pc, ubuntu server (both have 2.5gbe cards) or TL-SX3008F with sfp+ 10gbe.
Problem:
#1 ISP, #2 my pc - 2gbit down, 300mbit up

#1 ISP, #3 my pc - 1/1gbit

#2 my pc #3 ubuntu server - 1gbit down, 300mbit up on my pc
Yes, i tried multiple cables

I have TL-SX3008F switch - i am able to saturate about 4/10gbit on windows machine from server on this switch.

Controller is up to date - Software Omada (hosted on windows)

WAN config - pppoe, nothing fancy put in, but if there is any special option please ask i will provide. I just tried Flow Control (anyway, what is this? can't find info) and it didn't help.

Tried all available FW versions - even beta one 1.1.1 - not helping.

Got kinda offtop, but same metric question - should 2.5gbe work on 10gb sfp+ transceiver via TL-SX3008F? Even if i am able to run it on router+pc, that i will be able to route it further to switch like this: 2.5gbe(ER707-M2)<->10gbe sfp+(TL-SX3008F) using TL-SM5310-T on switch sfp+ side

Do you mean the #2 port always get limited to 1Gb-down 300Mbps-up? Confirm this to make sure I understand you right.

PPPoE. Huh. I need to ask the dev team about this.

  @Clive_A If i could sum it up - #2 2.5gbe port using 2.5gbe connection on both ends always ends up with only 300mbit upload. When i force switch this port (#2 2.5gbe) to 1 gbe it gets full 1gbit up. Download on this port seems fine all the time. (saturates 2gbit ISP when it is on 2.5gbe mode, and saturates 1gbit when port is in 1gbit mode)

I have created a case for you and I've sent an email privately to your registered email address. If you don't reply, I will mark the case as closed.

I have asked what information I need in the email. Please respond to my email.

In addition, can you wire your PC to the modem and test it? Paste the result here or in the email response.

  @Clive_A I think i provided all necessary information - 1gbit port works like a charm - i can saturate 1/1gbit on it, but when i connect to 2.5gbit port i can saturate it to 2.5gbit download and 300mbit upload, and it doesn't matter if it's speedtest via my ISP or LAN transfer, always up is limited.

I have 10gbit switch and when i transfer data between devices using it i can saturate 10/10gbit using SMB or iperf3. Devices work perfectly. It's ALL about port #2 on ER707-M2 that is broken.

When i first tested config was default, didn't change dime on it on switching side (fresh install), and it doesn't matter if it is standalone version, or omada controlled - always same problem, only ~300-350mbit upload on port #2. Also changing every possible option on config didn't change anything, always same result.

Now this port is connected to 10gbe SFP+ <-> 2.5gbe #2 on ER707-M2, but i also connected DIRECTLY to it (2.5gbe my pc <-> 2.5gbe ER707-M2) from my motherboard that has 2.5gbe and i have SAME speed - 300-350mbit up. When i change port #2 to 1gbit only, it works as intended (1/1gbit), but it's not using it's full potential of 2.5/2.5gb

The software is broken, there is no single option i have something wrong on my side - checked all possible options. I have even 2 mobos with 2.5gbe, one is on ubuntu server - same speed.

@Clive_A After many further tests and going without full usual network config, just my pc + server + router i figured out where exactly problem is.

If i set ANY of the ER707-M2 2.5GbE ports to 2.5G, than UPLOAD on these ports gets lowered

Setup:

ISP 2.5GbE <->  ER7070-M2 port #1  2.5GbE

My PC 2.5GbE <-> ER707-M2 port #2  2.5GbE

When port #1 and #2 are changed to 1GbE i can saturate 1/1gbit on ISP. Changing ANY of these ports to 2.5GbE lowers this exact port UPLOAD speed.

Tests via iperf3 on outside server (it is on 10gbit, i can saturate my whole net on secondary router):

port #1 1GbE and port #2 to 2.5GbE then -> my pc gets 1gbit download ~400-500mbit upload

port #1 2.5GbE and port #2 to 1GbE then -> my pc gets ~400-500mbit download 1gbit upload

port #1 2.5GbE and port #2 to 2.5GbE then -> my pc gets 600-1600mbit download 150mbit upload (higher download due to ISP providing 2050mbit download)

Looks like UP on any of these ports gets around halved whenever switching it to 2.5GbE.

But most interesting part is - if i switch port #2 to 2.5GbE and connect secondary PC on port #3 then i have 1/1gbit between these PCs

Something is here totally fcked up on 2.5GbE switching side
