EAP655-wall issues with VLANs after upgrade to 1.2.2
EAP655-wall issues with VLANs after upgrade to 1.2.2
Hello,
I've EAP655-wall conected through ethernet (poe), EAP653 conected through ethernet (poe) and EAP650 as mesh node with OC-200 omada controller. All AP have same 4 WiFi networks with different VLAN ID.
After upgrading EAP655 to 1.2.2 Build 20230918 Rel. 36991
- clients could connect to all WLANs (SSIDs)
- only WLAN with default VLAN was working
- other 3 VLANs had no connectivity (like most of the packets were dropped)
- clients conected to other APs - no issues
After downgrade of EAP655 to firmware version 1.2.0 Build 20230717 Rel. 63070 - the same problem.
After downgrade to firmware version 1.0.0 Build 20230330 Rel. 14305 - everything is working again.
I saw posts about similar issues related to EAP225 but no solution yet.
Best regards.

Hello @RS217AIII,
The new Beta firmware EAP650-WALL_V1_1.1.3_Build20231120 and EAP655-WALL_V1_1.2.3_Build20231120 have both contained the VLAN/WLAN no connectivity issue fixed like this thread mentioned.
Are you sure the issue you are suffering is the same as the issue this thread mentioned?
They don't have the IPv6 issue.

@ThorB thanks for the fast reply :)
I've downgraded as well but was just hoping some official statement from TP-Link mentioning they made a flaw instead of us doing trial-and-errors on old firmware or even old beta firmware.
Hopefully TP-Link comes with an up-to-date fix regarding this firmware errors. Not the first time I'm getting problems with released firmware.. Just disappointing.

Hello @micha-364,
May I know what is the model number of your EAPs?
Have you upgraded your EAP655-Wall/EAP650-Wall to official firmware 1.2.2/1.1.2? Has it caused any wireless issues to your network?

I've been running 1.2.9 since Monday - I'm still having problems with devices seeming to be connected to the ap, but traffic only following one way (download but no upload). Disconnecting and reconnecting fixed it for between 1 minute and 1 hour, but eventually connectivity is lost again.

Hello Hank21,
I have the same problem with both EAP655 wall and EAP650 wall.
Since November 24th, 2023, I have found an updated firmware version 1.2.3 (EAP655 wall) or 1.1.3 (EAP650 wall) on the site (https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/617356) and not the version 1.2.9 already provided by support.
Can we get these too and also an equivalent for EAP650 wall?
At least the VLAN works again after downgrading to version 1.0.0, even if there is still no IPv6 connectivity.
When can we expect a solution?
