All Omada routers.

Background:

If you hope to block YouTube or any kind of domain for safety or parental purposes, you should know how to properly find out its domains and subdomains to add them to the filter list.

Simply blocking youtube.com or a domain name sometimes does not work. It may make you think the URL filtering is not effective or malfunction.

Steps:

1. Open your browser and go to the desired page. Press F12 to launch the DevTools.

2. Go to Network.

3. Let's take YouTube for example. You can see the created sessions and from what sources you downloaded the images.

In this example, you can see that i.ytimg.com is the web server where downloaded the video image.

4. When you load up a video, you will find out more sessions are created to download the videos.

When a video is playing, it is downloading from the googlevideo.com

And you can see new tasks increase on the left column "Name".

5. To block YouTube(youtube.com), it is necessary to block googlevideo.com and i.ytimg.com as well.

For example, YouTube includes the domains except for (youtube.com):

Note:

1. Some websites may use CDN. Please block at your discretion. Blocking the CDN provider's subnet or domain may cause a series of issues.

2. There are tools available on the Internet to identify URLs from known applications. You may refer to their lists of domains.

3. Be very careful when you are setting this up. If incorrectly configure the domains, you may not access their servers.
