OpenVPN - ER605
Hi,
I have successfully connected to the OpenVPN server via the ER605, and the server logs confirm that the device connected successfully.
Additionally, I can ping both the OpenVPN private and public IP addresses from the system tools > diagnostics.
However, after connecting my laptop to the ER605 via LAN, I am unable to ping either the public or private IP addresses. Is there something I'm missing?

Hi @phoenix4698
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
If you are certain that you are setting it up properly and correctly, see this solution:

@Clive_A I am still unable to route traffic from the device connected to the ER605 through the OpenVPN server. I have reviewed the solution, but it isn't working.

Provide more details on the issue described.
Especially, your diagram, screenshots of the WAN IP address, and ping result from your test.
While you are connected to the VPN, what's the ping result to the default gateway IP address?
Please mosaic your sensitive information. Here is a list of information considered sensitive:
1. Public IP address on your WAN if your WAN is.
2. Real MAC address of your device.
3. Your personal information including address, domain name, and credentials.
For troubleshooting purposes, when a WAN IP is needed, please leave some values visible for identification.

Your WAN IP is not a public one. How do you connect to the VPN?
The VPN we talk about commonly refers to the VPN that is on the public Internet.
I also don't understand what you are referring to here. I asked for a diagram. I don't see it. I would say that you have WAN wrong. Possibly config as well.
Try to ping the 192.168.3.1, if it works, the VPN works.

Currently, my setup is as follows: I have successfully connected my TP-Link device to my internal network, with the TP-Link WAN IP automatically assigned as 192.168.29.65. Additionally, I have established a connection to my OpenVPN server using an .ovpn file. According to the OpenVPN server logs, the connection from the TP-Link device to the OpenVPN server is successful.
Next, I connected my laptop to the TP-Link device via LAN, and I should be able to SSH into 10.8.0.1 (which is part of the private IP range assigned by OpenVPN). However, the challenge is that I am unable to SSH into 10.8.0.1.
Interestingly, when I use the same .ovpn file with an OpenVPN client, I am able to successfully SSH into 10.8.0.1.
