AX72 and AX53 in EasyMesh with Virgin Media

Hi
I have an AX72 and AX53 in EasyMesh setup (the AX72 is the router) attached to my Virgin Media Hub 4 (in modem only mode). On WiFi I get download speeds of 950mbps but on uploads I seem to be limited to 24.5mbps (should be close to 100mbps).
I have tried resetting everything back to using the Hub 4 as the router and disconnecting the TP Link devices - this does enable me to get the right upload speeds although the download performance is lacking in this setup. So I'm assuming, ignoring the download issues on the hub 4, that the TP Link devices are the issue.
Any ideas what I can do to boost my upload speeds when using the AX72 as the router in the original setup I explained above? As a starter I have QoS disabled.
Seperately I cannot seem to get ethernet backhaul to work with these routers properly. I have ethernet running between the routers (via a downstairs switch) however whenever I try it I get constant dropouts (conflicts?) no matter what I try. I even tried them direct with one cable (so no switch involved) and that did the same.
Thanks!

Hi @marsman802,
Thank you for reporting your issue to our community.
May I know what is the upload speed of the Hub 4?
Is there any switch between the main router and satellite router?
- Please compare the upload speeds on different routers, and also confirm whether the connection between nodes is Ethernet Backhaul?
- Please change the cable for comparison
- Please try to enable QoS and set upload speed to 1000Mbps. How to set up QoS using TP-Link Wi-Fi router
Feel free to reply here if you have any update.

@Joseph-TP So the Hub 4 upload is coming in 80/90mbps on its own.
The upload speeds on the ax72/53 are both maxing at 24.5mbps and I am using Ethernet backhaul to connect the two although in both Ethernet and Wireless backhaul the 24.5 is still the max.
Enabling QoS and setting to 1000 hasn't made a difference.
I can try a different cable for the WAN connection but can I just clarify what cable spec you recommend for me to do so?

Hi@marsman802,
Thank you for your reply. This seems to be a very strange question indeed.
Here are some suggestions may help:
Please try different Ethernet cables (CAT5E or above) on the Router.
Please turn off the satellite router and test the upload speed of the main router separately.
Please try a few other speedtest servers, other servers might reach better speeds.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any update.

Just to conclude this I've managed to fix it although I have no idea how. I actually purchased an AX95 second hand and was setting up to find it did exactly the same thing on the upload cap....
Ended up factory resetting all three routers several times and my virgin modem and putting it into router mode and back to modem only.
After 2hrs of messing about (also finding the AX95 doesn't do EasyMesh - why????) I then noticed speed test was showing above the cap.
So I've gone back to the 72 and 53 setup and now getting 1gig downstream and 85mbps upstream on WiFi on my iPhone.....

Hi just a quick question,
When you initially put your hub4 in modem mode did you do a reboot of all devices at same time or individually ?
as my friend who is with virgin had similar issues but he uses a ax55 as his main and we did this and it seemed to cure the issue.
Also as strange as its going to sound I beleive I read somewhere ( don't ask me where ) that when you put the virgin router into modem mode he should use a specific lan port ( 3 or 4 i think )on the virgin router to the wan port of the tp link main router.
He's currently not using a easy mesh network yet but he is using a pair of my old c6 v3.2 as satellites in AP mode and he does have any of the upload issues as far as i know

@Basboi85 Hey! I did them in isolation actually so only had one of them on and factory reset them - to be clear I never had them all on at once when I started trying all the different combinations. Honestly it was driving my son mad who was desperate to do something online 😂.
You know I looked back at my speed test results (I regularly check in just to see what's what) and the issue definitely started before any mesh network it turns out. Looks like it was June last year this started capping but I didn't think anything of it as was probably just looking at download speed.
So some gremlin just started between the VM hub and the AX72 somehow as i was using the AX53 as an AP connected via ethernet previously and only turned into ethernet backhaul on a mesh network a month or two ago.
Haven't heard that LAN port one before though.
Glad it wasnt just me having issues!

I know the certain lan port on the virgin router was and strange one to me but hey ho it's IT equipment and simple logic never seems to prevail lol 🤷🏼♂️.
We rebooted everything all at once after he was having gremlins and it all worked so I guess there mightve been a 'handshake' issue I'm guessing?
I know the feeling all to well when I was trying to keep my 3x Ax72's in easy mesh and my kids was constantly going mad becuase i had "messed with the wifi and they couldnt play online 🙄.
After a few months of being totally unreliable with constant crashes and many other random phenomenons in easymesh I gave up with it and went to 1x main x2AP and haven't looked back since.
Only time I hear moaning now is when my boys move around my house and their nintendo switches don't roam/switch over between units and have to begrudgingly restart their switches after god knows how long moaning that their games are lagging ect but everything else does without a hiccup 🤷🏼♂️.

Hi@marsman802,
Please make sure you are tagging a TP-Link Admin (my account) if you want a timely response. Unless we are tagged we do not see that new responses have been added. We do not subscribe to every thread, so rely on Tagging to ensure responses.
Glad to hear your issue has been resolved for now.
May I know what the operation modes of routers are now? For example, AX72 (router mode) + AX53 (AP mode), or did you keep the Mesh network?
From your conversation with Basboi85, it seems that Virgin Media is likely to be an important factor.
If you can provide more details later, we may be able to locate the problem more accurately.
Thank you~
