Model: VIGI C485
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have just bought a Vigi C485 (2.8mm) camera and am trying to connect it to my existing Deco X10 network which has 2 Deco X10 devices - 1 unit set as Main (router mode) and the other unit set as an access point.
My problem is that this camera cannot be detected in my Vigi App if I plug in directly to the network port on my main deco unit (the router mode unit) but can only be detected if I plug in to the network port of my 2nd deco unit (access point mode).
I do not use an NVR with this camera - just a microSD Card for recording, meaning that I plug a network cable directly from the cctv to the network port of my deco.

My question is:

1) Is there anyway I can plug the cctv network cable in to my Main Deco unit (router mode) instead of my other Deco unit (access point mode) and have it be detected on my Vigi app? It makes more sense to do that as my Vigi camera is much nearer to the main Deco than the other Deco (access point mode).

Thanks

Not sure why it does not work on the first(AKA main) Deco. But it should work as it should provide a DHCP IP to it.

You might consult this with the Deco support.

If it works on the second Deco, which is providing a DHCP IP, it means its port is good. And it is working with the DHCP.

It does not detect because it does not have Internet. VIGI binding or local discovery requires the LAN IP(DHCP IP) and Internet access.

Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to go for the current configuration where the Vigi camera is connected to the second (access point) mesh device as I don't want to mess too much with the setup. Thanks very much for your help. Regards
