Infrared not switching

Couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting many triggers on a night then realised the ir wasn't switching on when dark , I can get it to switch on manually if I switch to day mode then back to either night or auto but if I come out of the app it switches the ir off again .

Check which night mode (doorbell Device Settings > Video & Display > Night Mode Settings) your doorbell is set to. Is it in the infrared mode?
The lighting on the upper right side seems to be the reason why the doorbell didn't switch to night mode automatically. Try to reposition the doorbell to avoid such direct lighting, as this can prevent the brightness from reaching the threshold needed to switch to night mode.
