I hae 3 deco units, they are all connected to my main router through LAN. After connecting the office satellite to the main deco, it works for a while, but after several days the light starts blinking red. The other DECO is not even discoverable, although it is on the same LAN as the main Deco. 

 

My main router is a Fritzbox. The office Deco goes through a LAN hub and then to the fritzbox, The other one connects to the fritzbox directly. They ust won'd connect or stay connected. I have a blinking red light and now my app says that the office deco is offline. Please advise what to do.

  @David-TP Thanks a  lot DAvid, that solved it. The Deco was in router mode, so the problem was not the ethernet switches but a conflict with my main router (Fritzbox).

 

Here's what I did for others to try:

  1. Unplug all the Deco's
  2. Plug in the ethernet cable to the main Deco, and boot it up
  3. Switch to Access point mode as proposed in this thread. 
  4. Move the satellites within wifi range, and plug them in with the ethernet cable unplugged
  5. Wait for them connect in wifi backhaul mode, and then plug in the ethernet cable. This may take a while but should switch over after a minute or so.

Deco uses its own proprietary mesh technology. If you plan to use Deco units in Access Point mode or create a mesh network while using a different brand router (such as a Fritzbox), we recommend setting up Double NAT. To do this, connect the main Deco unit directly to the Fritzbox router, and then link the other two Deco units to the main Deco, not directly to the Fritzbox. This ensures the mesh system operates properly, maintaining seamless performance and roaming across Deco units.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Is the current topology like:


Fritzbox---LAN Hub---Office Deco
              \--Main Deco
               \- the other satellite Deco
If yes, Networ_kHunter is right, and you need to set Deco into Access Point: How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

And adjust the network layout a little bit, for example:

Fritzbox---Main Deco----LAN Hub---Office Deco
                                  \---the other satellite Deco

  @Networ_kHunter Thanks a lot for your reply, much appreciated. Unfortunately the cabling in my house does not allow me to do this. I can connect the main Deco to the fritzbox, but not the other Decos directly to the main one.
