Recently I setup my Archer GE800(Main router) with Archer BE400(Satellite router) to build a mesh Wi-Fi, via Easymesh.

 

 

But I found a strange thing that the Archer BE400 requests DHCP assignment every 34 seconds, even I have assigned a static IP to it.

My DHCP server is built on my Ubuntu server, using isc-dhcp-server, and I have disable the DHCP server on GE800.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—BE800—BE400)))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

 

Please double-check if the BE400 is set to a static IP correctly. 

Please adjust the DHCP lease settings to check if the lease time is too short.

Yes, I have checked my ISC DHCP server config that it assign BE400 a static IP.

Here is a part of the DHCP server config.

 

subnet 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {

  max-lease-time 86400;
  range 192.168.1.50 192.168.1.250;

  option routers 192.168.1.1;
  option subnet-mask 255.255.255.0;

Also I have disable the DHCP server on GE800, and touched nothing on BE400, as it managed by GE800 and has no configurable options.
