I keep receiving this notification from my Deco app but I cannot find what it means:

 

Classification: PROTOCOL-

ICMP_Destination_Unreachable_Fragme ntation_Needed_and_DF_bit_was_set

(CVE-2015-7759)

 

Can someone please help me understand.

I do not believe there as been a resolution to this problem. I would suggest you follow David-TP instructions on how to send in your log file. Here is a link to that post

The warning you are seeing (CVE-2015-7759) refers to a specific type of ICMP network message called "Destination Unreachable - Fragmentation Needed and DF bit was set". This is usually part of normal network communication (for example, when devices or apps are testing the best packet size to send data).

Our security system flags it as a potential attack because, in older systems, this type of message could be misused to cause a denial-of-service attack. In your case, since the IP address shown (192.168.68.102) is a local device on your own network, it is most likely a harmless request from one of your devices (such as a PC, phone, or application).

What you can do:

Identify which device on your network is using the

IP 192.168.68.102.

Make sure that device is updated and run a quick antivirus scan, just to be safe.

Keep your router and security software up to date.
