Powerline adaptors no longer connecting

I have a pair of TL-PA4020P powerline adaptors that appear to have stopped connecting. When plugged in, the power lights show OK and the local network connection light. However, they don't talk to each other across the powerline, either just plu-and-play or paired (as I had them set up originally). Is it possible that one of them has failed somehow? Is it possible to diagnose which one has a problem?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hello@Zebop917 ,
Welcome to our community.
Do you mean the powerline lights are off after you try to pair the adapters?
Please hard reset the powerline adapters:
For the models which start with TL-PAxxxx, press and hold the Pair button for 15s until all LEDs turn off and then come back on.
For models beginning with TL-WPAxxxx, press and hold the Reset button for 10s. Release the button and all LEDs turn off. When the LEDs turn back on, the reset process is complete.
Then please pair them again: How to secure (pair) the Powerline Network.
Best Regards.

Hi,
In case you haven't tried already, plug the two TL-PA4020P into two wall sockets that are very close to each other (or at least in the same room) and see if they will connect to each other. If they don't connect on their own, then try to pair them again.
This would tell us if one of them has indeed a problem or if there is another reason why they have stopped connecting when placed at their original locations.

@woozle I plugged the two adaptors into a double mains socket, so right next to each other. Same problem - no plug and play connection and no pairing.

You can diagnose with the app on a windows PC.
Looks like you need to buy at least one anyway.....
