Deco BE25 constant Wi-fi disconnects from iPhone and laptop
Deco BE25 constant Wi-fi disconnects from iPhone and laptop
I've been having issues with my Deco BE23s. My devices will randomly disconnect from Wi-fi up to 4-5 times per day. My iPhone for instance, disconnects randomly and it won't connect back on until I completely restart my phone. The other solution is to change the Private Wi-Fi Address from "Off" to "Fixed" or vice versa, then it'll reconnect back right away. This also happens to my Macbook after I wake it up from sleep. The Macbook will attempt to reconnect to the Wi-fi but it'll say it's connected and has no internet. The only solution for this is also the same as with the iPhone.
I've noticed that it's possible that it happens if I move from floor to floor.
Firmware is updated.
I have 3 Deco BE23.
Operation Mode: Wifi Router (but also had it on AP mode)
Fast Roaming: Disabled
Beamforming: Disabled (also had it enabled)
Channel Width for 5ghz: 160mhz (also tried changing it to 80mhz)
Any help would be greatly appreciated! It's been a frustrating experience.
Thank you!

The following is taken directly from the Deco app for both Beamforming and Fast Roaming.
"If some devices are disconnected from the Deco network after turning on/off this feature, try forgetting the Deco network on these devices and then join the network again."
I would try that first and see how it goes.

Hi, a new firmware 1.1.0 Build 20250718 for Deco BE25 was released a few weeks ago. It has optimized the roaming performance and network stability:
Deco BE25(EU)_V1_1.1.0 Build 20250718
It is recommended to update to the latest firmware to see whether it helped.
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

Sorry this is the BE23 from the US, the firmware is up-to-date.
I've been looking through old posts from here and Reddit and it seems like it's been happening on other Decos too. I had the M4R before and this has never happened.
This post with the Macbook sounds like my issue but their solution to use 5ghz only isn't a viable option. My Macbook takes awhile to connect back to wifi when coming from deep sleep.

I've also set a notification on the app to notify me when my iPhone disconnects from the wifi. When it does happen, it'll disconnect, connect, disconnect, connect at least 4-5 times all within minutes. But each time I receive the notificaation that the phone has connected back onto the network, it doesn't actually have internet access.

Hi, the 1.1.0 version works for both the Deco BE25/Deco BE23(EU/US) versions.
The release notes mentioned the optimization of Mesh Roaming performance, which might help with your current issue.
If you'd like to wait for a while, a similar version will also be uploaded to the local site and pushed via the Deco APP.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Thank you David, I just updated the firmware now. Fingers crossed that it solves it. Will report back just in case anyone else encounters this issue.

The connection has improved after the firmware update however it still disconnects at least once a day (much less than before) when it tries to switch to another node. It takes about 5 to 6 minutes to connect back. It'll still disconnect and connect like 3 to 4 times before it actually fully connecting. Prior to the update, it wouldn't connect back at all.
Any other ideas?
