Firmware Version: 1.1.11

I have the Doorbell installed the LED colour is constantly an orange colour. And locked cannot be changed or switched on or off. . You can reboot and the set colour returns.after a few hours. It returns to the orange colour. 
the only way I can change it is to reboot again. 
I have returned the device and tried a new one but the same issue returns. 
hope this is an easy fix.

Many features require the doorbell to be connected to the cloud server to function correctly, such as remote management (watching live streams or controlling the device), receiving notifications, and uploading cloud videos (Tapo Care), etc.

 

Did you block the internet access for the doorbell? If so, then this phenomenon is normal. If not, then for your case, you can refer to Case 2 suggestions in this article for troubleshooting. Cannot use the Tapo app to control my smart devices

  @Castiger 

i since read that the constant amber/orange means disconnected from the cloud. However i do not use the cloud service?
