Your Tapo H500 and the TC74 are currently running outdated firmware versions, several releases behind the latest available updates. The D235 is not updated either, but the current firmware already supports this feature.
Last firmware versions of the following models, FYI:
- Tapo H500(US) 1.0: 1.3.8 Build 20251024 rel.82184
- Tapo D235(EU) 1.0: 1.2.1 Build 250926 Rel.64362n
- TC74(EU) 1.0: 1.4.1 Build 250905 Rel.68732n
For the firmware issue, please go to device's Device Settings page, manually check for firmware updates to see if any new versions are available. How to update the firmware of the Tapo devices on the Tapo App
Verify whether these devices can be controlled remotely (e.g., when using cellular data). If not, it is likely they're not properly connected to the cloud server, which could also prevent it from detecting the latest firmware updates. If this is your case, please refer to Case 2 suggestions in this article for troubleshooting first. Cannot use the Tapo/Kasa app to control my smart devices
If the device's remote control functions correctly but it still can't detect any new firmware, try the following and see if it helps your devices identify available updates.
- Power cycle the smart device.
- Reset and reconfigure the devices.
- Reset and configure the devices to another WiFi, such as mobile hotspot.
