Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.x

HARDWARE VERSION 1.2

I recently purchased the ER707 to add WAN failover to my home network. I was able to establish connections to both WANs and my LAN router with some difficulties - though I think many of those were because of an upgrade to the AX11000 firmware that forced AP isolation on the network. That's a different post!

About every 3-4 days I lose connectivity. I can traverse my LAN, and I can directly access my backup WAN modem; but the ER707 is inaccessible by any interface. It's in a basement crawl space so it is a bit of a pest to access; so I have left it to see if it clears itself or autoheals and it doesn't; but it works perfectly normally after a power cycle.

Nothing shows in the gateway logs.

I increased the logging and still nothing.

I have scheduled weekly reboots. That hasn't helped.

I consulted my friendly LLM which suggested this might be a memory issue or runaway process locking up the gateway; it suggested reducing MTU and enabling clamping; changing from external DNS to gateway caching, and disabling a number of features not being used (QOS/parental controls/IPv6). None of these fixed the issue.

My (expensive) attempt to make my network more reliable has consumed days of time and is less reliable than the existing simple WAN!

Anyone have any solutions for this issue?
