Model: Tapo C220
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Good afternoon!! Today, suddenly in Russia, the statuses of the p115 p110 sockets and the c210 c220 cameras stopped being displayed - they are all offline. However, using the RTCP protocol, you can access the camera using its white IP address and view it. Naturally, you can control the cameras and sockets in the LAN where they are located. However, the indicators on both the cameras and the sockets are red. I have tried using different providers. What's strange is that tapo.com ping works, the pings are coming in, but the website doesn't open at all. What could be causing this?

Hello,

Welcome to TP-Link Community.

If all devices appear offline within the same network environment, it is very likely related to the network itself.

We recommend that you check your network environment and perform basic troubleshooting, such as verifying your internet connection and DNS settings.

Of course, we understand why this is happening. However, I thought that TP-Link would take action and somehow change the IP pool for TAPO services on Amazon Web Services.

In general, in Russia, the service has practically degraded and is not suitable for use. Neither DNS 8.8.8.8 nor wired providers have been helping for quite some time. It is possible to use RTSP and ONIF directly with the cameras.

In the conditions of service degradation, when the TAPO application does not work, it is not possible to specify the white IP address of the camera, and the only way to view live video is through VLC, and to rotate the camera using Onvier. Consequently, it is not possible to configure the sensor thresholds, detection zones, or view the SD card to see what events have occurred and what has been recorded. It is also not possible to view the file system, retrieve files, or stream video from the SD card. The lack of a web interface effectively transforms this solution into a regular camera that can be used to view live video and rotate the camera. The rest is proprietary. The TAPO cloud itself, according to the detector's website, doesn't work properly either. In general, this solution is no longer viable.
