Model: Tapo P110
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.46

Been battling with this for now far too long, 1-2 years.

Multiple handsets so it's not a phone issue.

I know all the battery optimization disablements, it's not this.

You setup the feature, it maybe works for a few days & just stops, if you check location history logs for tapo app, it clearly shows obtaining location, yet it does not trigger the smart action.

It's so ridiculously unreliable & yet they still haven't fixed this.

Even when it does work which is hardly ever, the time it takes between gaining your location & triggering the smart action is quite long eg 10-20 minutes, but again it hardly ever triggers.

Also deleted & added the smart actions again & again, reset the app, tried disabling the actions & enabling, nothing helps

When will Tapo finally fix this damn feature, it's truly very annoying.

I've tried various versions of app & trial versions yet they still haven't resolved the issue, they actually didn't even reply to my last email with logs etc, it's pretty poor customer service.

I have 8 of these units & tbh I'm considering swapping them out for Shelly because they're very unreliable for other reasons I'll open another thread on.

From what I’ve seen, geofence automation problems are usually unique to each setup and depend on the specific device, the local environment, and network conditions. If everything is set up right but it’s still not triggering, it needs to be looked at individually.

Have you emailed the support team to follow up on your case? Please provide your case id, i can help remind them about it.

This isn't a setup issue as I've already stated it quite clearly the whole situation, I feel you need to read the post again, properly.

If it was setup wrong, then it wouldn't trigger at all.

Location logs show it obtains often but does not action the smart process, this is a software issue & has been for 2 years now, to the point having to rely on outside vendor software now which defeats the point.

Yes I have emailed them & they basically stopped replying & did zero to help the issue even after using their "trial beta" software
