R605 keeps loosing it's password and failing adopt on OC200

Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0

For the 3rd time my R605 is showing as ADOPT FAILED on my OC200 controller.

It happened after I need to move some devices in my desk and so I had to power off everything, unplug all cables, move to another room, plug all cables and power on everything.

So, something that can happen with anyone.

It started back, the controller, my 2x EAPs and I was able to use the internet normally. No further changes.

When I logged in omada page I was able to connect to the OC200 but noted that Gateway was listed as 0 and the ADOPT FAILED at the R605.

If I ask to adopt again, it asks for the username and password and I use what's stored in the browser and also double checked in my password safe but it fails.

The username/password is the same of the OC200 as the EAPs uses the same set of credentials.

So now I can use my network but cannot manage the R605.

Dont know why it happened in any of the previous times but the 1st time I thought that was something on my end and forced the adoption that resulted on having to reset it completelly and lost all config from OC200. The 2nd time I was in the middle of an emmergency and had no time to think or to call support and had to do it manually from scratch again.

Now I really need to solve this and get a decent solution.

Buy a HW controller that helps me on nothing is clearlly not what I want.

@TheUnF

I am not sure. Have you tried manually put the username and password? If it says wrong, it is wrong. This username and password are your router's system credentials. Like the default is name: admin and psw: admin

This is something unlike TP-Link ID. This is purely stored in your local. On the device. OC authenticates with this set of credentials to adopt the R605.

OC will automatically try the default admin admin and if this is not correct, it will pop up the window and aks you to manually put it.

Hi @Yannie, thanks for you reply, but if you read carefully may see that I did not change the password, just turned off all devices and then turn them back on.

1- why OC200 looses ONLY r605 password while can manage EAPs normally

OR

2- why R605 looses the admin password but keeps their config, as LB still works and credentials to authenticate each PPPoE ISP works

Also, as I wrote, I used the same uid+pwd for all TP-Link devices, from the 1st deployment and on.

That's definitely something messed in firmware.

Last, OC200 should have a way to re-adopt a device that has being hardware reset and keep the same config right, its a controller or not?

Backup is on but is not helping.

@TheUnF

I had similar issues a few weeks ago. It happened 2 times now. A power down and power up of the router made it adopt again with no problems. Keep it off for a minute before powering on again.

@NICAP Great for you ... can you share which are the firmwares of each device ? Note that I'm having adopt issues with the R605 only.
