ER605 Link Aggregation
Hi.
Please add Link Aggregation option to the ER605.
I see in these forums that it is a very requested feature and that would assist all the ER605 owners.
I use 2 Wan connections with load balancing, but it would be extremely appreciated to add the LAGG feature via a firmware update.
It has been discussed in the past that TpLink would add this. Is there any update on this matter?
Your kind reply will be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

It's less obvious I think in Standalone, but if you configure your WAN ports with static BW capabilities:
then under load balacing, tick the Enable BW Based as shown below

My setup is the following:
I have my normal ISP (landline internet vdsl) at 100mbs.
I have also aquired a 5g ZTE router with an unlimited data program.
I have connected these two WANs to the ER605 and I have connected to the LAN port a DECO mesh system to get wifi internet for my devices.
The system is set up for load balancing (not failover) but I would like to create a link aggregation/bonding of the two WANs to get the maximum bandwidth possible.

Then you mis-understand feature of LAG or (switch) port channels.
What you are asking for is bonding disparate internet connections...and this requires an aggregation/de-aggregation node at both ends. In your case, what you are asking for, I think, is to add your VDSL connection to your LTE connection and make a single pipe out of it. Solutions like this do exist, but they depend on an internet connected node, typically in a cloud like AWS that has TWICE the maximum bandwidth you can expect from your two connections.
What then happens is an application on your LAN connects through the local aggregator (what you envisioned as the ER605). That device divides the user traffic across both connections based on their then-available BW (LTE will fluctuate). Both streams transit the internet and arrive at the cloud-based aggregator node, which then recombines the user packets in their original order and (note this process makes the overall connection slower than the slowest of your connections) and sends them back out to the internet as a single flow. Since the traffic hairpins through the cloud node, you need double the internet BW there.
This is a lot of effort and expense for little if any benefit, because as latency increases you max available BW will decrease thanks to TCP windowing (Google it).

Hm, ok. I thought the bonding could be done at a local hardware level (i.e. by the ER605 and an algorithm).
So, what is the best close-to-bonding options I have? Is the load balancing I have now the only option to combine two WAN connections?
