Can not get the Internet / Wan connection up and running  with the ER707-M2 after HW upgrade from ER605-V2

I use an OC300 ( Latest Firmware)

 

1) ER605V2 -> Function ok. 

 

2) ER605V2 -> Forget device

 

3) ER707M2 -> install and Power on

4) Wired Network ->  changed gateway model to ER707-M2 , configure the WAN

5) Adopt  ER707-M2 (Signal led  for the RJ45 lines ok)

6) ER707-M2 Connected  but WAN Off Line ->  even after manual start stays off line.

     Same problem for WAN1 /WAN2 / WAN3

7) High Rate of errors logged ->  all related to  ISP-connection that is not available IP / DNS  ...

 

Function not ok and go back to original HW-configuration with ER605-V2

 

8) ER707-M2 Forget Device.


9) Wired Network ->  changed gateway model to ER605-V2 , configure the WAN

10)  Adopt  ER605-V2 (Signal led  for the RJ45 lines ok)

11) Everything ok. No problem,  function as defined before.

12) ER605V2 up an running

 

 Any feedback is welcome

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Have you ever thought about the MAC clone? If it is your ISP limits the MAC address? Call them and release the MAC address can also fix the issue.

I don't think it's a problem ever with the manufacturers of any networking devices.

Following. Just got 2gig internet and I am about to go through the same process. Picking up the ER707-M2 tomorrow.

  @BennyCS And which port do you use as a WAN? And please, what do you say in terms of processor power and RAM, it works much faster? How about downloading the device? not as 10minutes as R605?

Thanks Clive, I think your correct it is the MAC address that gives me trouble need to change it in my Modem setting. IT refers at this moment to my ER605 MAC Address and need to refer to my ER707 MAC Address. Will try this in a few days. "Your hint dropped the coin". Thanks Benny.
