Hi all
Thanks for your attention to this feature and your continuous support of Omada.
First, this feature has been considered and we estimate this will be added in the V5.15.(X) release and adapted router firmware.
Second, we let you know that we close this thread for any further replies as we notice a trend of increasing replies from the same country in a day that seems to be abnormal. The surge of replies does not seem to be a normal thing to us especially when the account registration and the replies happened in a short time and they only replied to this thread.
Please note that spam replies do not speed up the development cycle as we are already aware that this is a high-demanding feature request. For any suspicious activity from the new account, we will closely monitor it.
Disclaimer:
- Please note that this will involve an adapted firmware, not just a controller update. Firmware development is a complex process, and timelines may change. Therefore, we cannot provide a specific release date at this time. Please stay tuned to future firmware release notes for updates.
- When introducing a feature like this, we typically apply it uniformly across all models to ensure consistency and a seamless user experience. However, it's essential to acknowledge that hardware limitations may exist, which might prevent us from adding the feature to certain models. In such cases, we cannot provide individual notifications explaining the reason. Please note that we cannot guarantee the fulfillment of all requests, and we must set clear expectations upfront.
- As a reminder, we are not able to give a specific date for a beta or official firmware release. Nor can we guarantee an ETA for the firmware. We recommend you subscribe for the Get the Latest Firmware Releases for Omada Routers Here - Subscribe for Updates.

Sadly this is more of an MDM feature than something that can be implemented at the network level.
Basically the AP will see all traffic from the shared hotspot as one mac address (the devices mac) and wont be able to tell what traffic is for the device vs what is for anything connected too it (shared). Therefore it cant make a decision to block the traffic in any way
The best way to do this is via MDM where you simply block the users option to share the connection, again this has its limitations. I cant see this being done at the network level
