Hello all,

 

This is to follow up on the SNMP issue on TP-Link ER8411, recently highlighted in a previous thread.

I'm using PRTG to monitor all our network devices (including the TP-Link device). However, I cannot monitor the utilization of interfaces, processors, etc.

 

 

Is there a way to get those (via SNMP) to my PRTG?

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

It is not a private MIB string. You can use the public MIB for the traffic stats you would like to monitor.

First, before we have some substantial evidence to prove it is a bug, I think you should not use the term bug here. Even if this is not available, it is a missing feature instead of a bug. I don't know why the "bug" is spammed so badly in the 21st century.

It does not support and it should be called a "missing feature" or "not supported".

 

Second, you are after the traffic stats of the interfaces, is that correct for you to use the keywords standard interfaces to search for the OID? At least you should use interface as the keyword.

Third, I checked this with the team and got an answer to confirm that this is supported and is using the public MIB. You should look this up in a public MIB. You can refer to the authoritative source of the MIB.

Out of curiosity, I scanned our router to see whether SNMP port 161 was opened. To my surprise, it wasn't, even though I had enabled the SNMP setting. There is no firewall in front of the router. My Access Control, Remote Management and SNMP settings are set and enabled. Therefore, any suggestion for me to fix this issue?
