I have a TD-W8970 Modem Router which has worked well for some time. I have recently bought a mesh wifi system (Google wifi) to try and improve wireless coverage through the house, which I have connected to the W8970. This works OK but I now have two layers of NAT (and two DHCP servers). Is it possible to configure the W8970 to act as a modem only. Please see attached screen shots of the current configuration.

Alternatively what will be the effect of making the mesh hub a DMZ host?

Thanks
Rob

Hi, the modem can work on Bridge mode as you can see on the ADSL WAN interface page. But the problem is you are using PPPoA connection. As I know there is no PPPoA on a router only device, only has PPPoE, Dynamic IP and Static IP, not sure if you can set up the PPPoA on your Mesh network.

Yes, you can try DMZ, go to Forwarding--DMZ, and enter the WAN IP of your Mesh network.
