ISP : Utility Warehouse/Talk Talk

Hi TP Link community, question for you. I have a Archer D2 router. Will be upgrading to Gfast Fibre to the cabinet but copper to the home. ISP says that our internet speed should increase up to 35mbps. Is there a limit on the speed that the router can take? ISP says that we should be able to use the same connection that we are using currently. We are using a ADSL connection through the router. If that the case is there a potential bottleneck continuing to use the router via the adsl connection instead of using the LAN/WAN port on the back of the router? Just wondering whether I would potentially need to upgrade the router in the future to one that can take the additional speed
