VR900 internet drops several times a day, not an actual disconnect

Hi all,
As per title, several times a day i lose all internet connectivity, basically all internet communication times out. Local network connections are not affected. It's not an actual 'disconnection' from the ISP, and i still have sync according to both the ISP and the modem.
Any ideas? Usually everything is back to normal after a few minutes, it appears to be random, as far as i can tell and it's certainly not congestion. Tempted to go back to my old (15 years old!) modem...
