@BozMoz I recently got a set of 3 of M5s from US from a friend but I'm now in Pakistan so I can't even see the 5Ghz band because the channels are coded according to the region lol. If they allowed me to switch channels manually (i don't mind staying in the legally allowed channels of US) then I would get 5Ghz. So I literally have a $180 Wireless N Mesh system right now.

Just an update for anyone who comes across this. Kevin escalated my support ticket to the engineering team. The engineering team went out of their way to compile a new beta firmware for me which has allowed all my Decos to broadcast on Band4 (Channel 149+). Now all my devices can connect via 5Ghz without any issues! 10/10 customer support!

@risa2000 I have the identical issues with M4R:

1) The 3 mesh units seem to use the busiest channel in the neighborhood, so not choosing the best channel.

2) All three units use the same channel.

3) There is no way to set the channel.

When you address these related issues, please include the M4 in your updates.

Just installed my new M9 Plus devices, I am genuinly in shock I cannot choose my own WiFi channels. This is comically absurd. This has cost over £200 and I cannot perform one of the most basic functions you can do on ISP routers (that are free!!!!).

For clarity, I live in a home with only 2 other houses near, the apparently 'smart' deco hubs have chosen EXACTLY the same WiFi channels as both our neighbours.

Garbage. These will be going to Amazon in the next week with a very public review stating the basic shortfalls of the admin/management system (app).

So frustrating as this is my first Mesh system and I've been impressed with the signal strength (aside from the contention and dropouts battling the neighbours!)

Reading previous posts how has this possibly not been sorted in the last 12 months?!?!

@CombatsheeI am yet another user who has just bought the M5s, and have no way of changing the wifi channel.  I'm shocked!  Thank goodness Sonos provides this feature, but my wifi is automatically set to the busiest channel here!!  It is not good enough, I thought I was upgrading to a better system, apparently not.

It seems my Deco P7 also prefers the busiest channel. And all 5 Deco P7 units are on the same channel as well. Shouldn't that spread out a little?
