Hi,

Can anyone answer my question before I buy.

I am considering buying a TL-PA9020P AV2000 Passthrough Powerline Kit, and a TL-WPA8630P AV1300 Passthrough Powerline Wifi adapter (no AV2000 Wifi available in my country - Australia).

This is 3 adapters in all, but possibly more later on, depending on the results.

One TL-PA9020P I will install in the Office near the Modem to transmit to / receive from the other 2 units.

The other TL-PA9020P I will install in the Living room.

The TL-WPA8630P I will install in the Bedroom upstairs.

This makes a triangle link arrangement.

I understand that the Office / Bedroom link, and the Living room / Bedroom link will only perform at the lower TL-WPA8630P AV1300 speed.

Question 1

Will the Office / Living room link perform at the higher TL-PA9020P AV2000 speed?

Or will all 3 links be limited to the lower speed?

Question 2

If, later on, I add a TL-WPA8630P between the two TL-PA9020P adapters, will that reduce the Office / Living room link to the lower speed?

Many thanks.

Hi,

With 2 TL-PA9020P and a TL-WPA8630P working together, first, the whole speed will be affected by the TL-WPA8630P.

regarding  to the Office / Living room, the powerline adapters will perform at the higher TL-PA9020P AV2000 speed, while the actual speed is lower than the speed with 2 9020P only cause the interference.

While regarding  to the office(living) room and the bedroom, TL-WPA8630P plays the important role, which will limit the speed.

May it help.

Good day.

@mybot Hi, I was wondering if you were able to make the three adapters work together? I am trying to create a similar setup with the same three adapters but I have problems making it work. Pairing takes several attempts and then it works for some time, but then suddenly one of the adapters looses the internet connectivity, without any particular reason the connection drops. I have tried different sequences in connecting the three and pairing them, resetting them all to factory settings, start again. But when it works, it is only for a couple of minutes -  and then the internet disappears, and/or the connection on one of the adapters turns red. (All other electric appliances in the house were off). Hope to hear your experience and if you have any tips or tricks.
