Imagine when the router is working in AP mode, and it is allowed to configure isolation between the main and the guest, the devices connected to the guest will not be able to access the internet, as it cannot communicate with the gateway in this configuration.

When working in AP mode, the main reason to have the main network and the guest network is to distinguish the two, as some customers prefer not to share the wireless credentials with guests.

Hi,

What is the operation mode of Archer C6? Is it access point mode or wireless router mode?

Please confirm whether you can see this option under wireless router mode.

Good day.

access point mode cannot config that, it is enabled by default

since...

assume a layer 2 topology, wan side = lan side = normal wireless

if the guest wireless want to access wan side, means access internet, then it shall, guest wireless = wan side

thus guest wireless = lan side, otherwise it cannot access internet

hope it is clear to you

News about that? I'm in the same condition...

Archer C6 v2.0   -   Access Point Mode   -   1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555)

Actually the guest network (still without a schedule...) is totally useless if you can see the local network
