Model: TL-MR6400
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: up to date

Hey ..

am i right in thinking my router has no way of controlling bandwidth to a certain device on the wifi? I've looked all over the settings and can find neither the QoS or bandwidth control. 2 xbox's in the house so me an the missus can't even relax to a film after a days work.. can't even watch youtube! Only way I can do it at the moment (when i get angry at the little bandwidth stealing grot bags) is to completely block them. is there no way for me to limit them with my current router?

Thanks

TL-MR6400 has two different working modes, Standard Wireless Router Mode and 3G/4G Router Mode. When working as a standard wireless router, we can use the Bandwidth Control on it.  In 3G/4G router mode, this feature is not available.

As it turns out I could do with that further help you mention I tried switching to standard mode and didn't have any internet even with a pc plugged directly into it. Am i right in assuming normal mode is with the router plugged into a phone line? or is it still wireless? I am trying to figure it out alone but typing in standard mode etc into google brings alot of how to enable it... which i've figured out how to enable it just it doesnt seems to work when enabled. I can't find much more info on it. Many thanks.

Hi,

In standard wireless router mode, it need connect to the internet source by ethernet cable via the LAN4/WAN port, and it cannot get internet with the sim card anymore.

Below is an instruction you can refer to:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1683/

May it help and have a nice day.
