Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20190617 Rel. 47476

My LAN IP is changing after every reboot, from 192.168.0.1 to something else. I have my WAN DNS set to a local address within the LAN IP subnet, and I lose my internet connection on every reboot. It is a huge hassle each time it happens.

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks!

In general, if the WAN DNS or WAN IP is in the same network segment as the LAN IP, it will cause the IP conflict.

So it is recommended to change the WAN DNS and make it not in the same network segment as the LAN IP.

Click here to change WAN DNS:

On the US community forum, a TP-Link representative mentioned that a firmware fix will be released soon to solve this issue.

Can you confirm that a future firmware will fix this issue? I'm using a local device as DNS to block ads, and I rather not use Deco to keep this functionality, rather than change my WAN DNS.

Yep, there will be a firmware released soon to solve this issue.

If you have a DNS server in the LAN, you can set the LAN DNS to the DNS server in the Deco app.

Hi, this doesn't seem to be fixed in the latest 1.3.6 firmware. Is a fix still incoming?
