Model: Adapter
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

My AV600 (TL-PA4010 V3) adapter gets very hot and disables itself.

It gets better when disabling "power save mode" but still happens occasionally.

Can anything else be done about it or is there a new firmware version coming? Speed drops seem like a better solution than disabling the connection altogether when it gets hot.

Thanks

@EladK

First, as an electrical device and a network expansion device, it will produce heat. Below is the spec:

Environment

Operating Temperature: 0~40 (32~104)
Storage Temperature: -40~70 (-40~158)
Operating Humidity: 10%~90% non-condensing
Storage Humidity: 5%~90% non-condensing

Please locate it in an open and ventilated area.

Besides, you can use the tpPLC utility to check the firmware. https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/tl-pa4010-kit/#Utility

Below is the download link of the firmware: https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/tl-pa4010-kit/#Firmware

@EladK

Thanks for your reply. For TL-PA4010kit, there is no firmware tab.

What is the current firmware version of the adapter?
