Model: Archer MR200
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.9.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 190307 Rel.54196n

Hi

I bought this router 3 days ago. I have good signal 75% and its good performance while its working. The problem is it disconnects it self random.. Sometimes only online a couple of minutes.

The only way to get it working again is a manual restart.

When its disconnected the globe lamp on the router is light, indicating its online. And it is showing the public ip adress and dns but says it is disconnected for a unknown reason. Cant find any clues in the log either...

Sim card works without problem on mobile phone.

tryed to set google dns 8.8.8.8 but it not helping

The carrier is Tre (Sweden)

Thanks in advance

Conny

Ok, googled around and it seems that I am not the only guy having this problem. And not only MR200 either.

Hope you guys find what the problem is and fix it soon.

Ps.

I also have a Dovado Tiny router and it has a nice feature that I am missing on TP.
It is called "Connection Tracker". Attach a screendump on that settingpage.

The 4g connection on the Dovado is almost always up.

You should really develop this feature, but first fix this problem with randomly disconnections becase it is happening way to often, and makes this router useless.

@Brusan

Try to create the network profile manually to give it  a go. Instruction as below:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1663/

After that, please verify whether it works fine.

Still the same, once the router stops working, please show us a screenshot of the status page and the system log.

Note: Go to advanced-system tools-system log to save it.

Good day.

I did that already but it was not helping.

I am on a little roadtrip, I post the log when I am back. But what I could see it was really not a clue there.

Thank you Kevin for replying

Re:TL-MR200 unstable 4g connection

The problem seems to be in our summerhouse. Becase I tested the router at home today and the router was online all day?

So could it be the 4g mast near summerhouse having problem?? Well no, the mobilephone works and also the dovado tiny and huwaei e398 have no problem.

Also the signal is good.. 50-75%.

But maybe it is some diffrence in 4g masts config that the tp-link not likes.

Maybe you have to log more information in the systemlog too solve this.

@Brusan

Thanks for your reply.

There is no much useful information on the system log, instead, we find something on the status page when the router stops working.

As you can see, the SNR is 1.8dB and signal strength is 50%, that means the LTE signal obtained by the MR200 is weak, that is why the connection is unstable.

Furthermore, the MR200 works well at home, that means the router should be working properly; the poor LTE signal is the root cause.

You can try to change another location to put the MR200 in the summerhouse where it can get better signal.

May it help and have a nice day.

But why is the phones work without problem? And also Dovado tiny with a old Huwaei e398 modem has none disconnect problems? With MR200s big 4g antennas I thought it would shine.

Something must be wrong in firmware or is it really the hardware that is crappy, compared to my other devices?

@Brusan

Compared to MR200, the capacity and performance of the smart phone is much stronger; And the MR200 works fine at your home.

From the parameters on the MR200, what we can see is that the SNR value is low, and the LTE signal is weak; you can try to change the positions of the antenna to give it a go.

Or you can order a booster to strengthen the signal.

Nice day.

@Brusan

I have also SMS troubles since 6 7 months. After a reset and restore of bin file it works again for a couple of weeks... and then it repeats.
