TP-LINK TL-WPA8630P KIT max 100mbit on ethernet.
Okay, so today I bought the TP-LINK TL-WPA8630P KIT, but the ethernet only goes up to 100mbit on my PC, where I'm sure it is capable of 1gbps. So I was wondering (since it comes with a CAT6 cable) why it is so slow.
Cheers,

May I know who is your internet service provider and what is the bandwidth you pay for them?
With yoru PC connected to the TL-WPA8630Pkit, please click here to verify the wired negotiation speed.
Note: The steps are the same, while you need right click on local area connection or ethernet connection.
Besides, please connect your computer to the main router directly, bypass the TL-WPA8630PKIT to verify the wired speed.
Below is an instruction you can refer to:

My internet provider is Ziggo, and I pay for 500mbit download and 40mbit up, and with wifi that had always been the case. Also, when I connect my pc directly with the router via a Cat5e cable, it has somewhere in between 400 and 500 mbit.
I already have taken all of these steps, but thanks for your advice!
Best regards.

Thanks for your reply.
In my opinion, the TL-WPA8630Pkit should work well cause the wireless speed from the powerline adapter is normal.
To locate the issue and figure it out, with your laptop connected to the TL-WPA8630PKIT by wired cable, please run a speed test for 3 times and show us the results.
In the meantime, please verify the wired negotiation speed as the instruction mentioned on my last reply.
Besides, try to change another ethernet port on the adpater to plug the laptop or try to hard reset the powerline adapter and repair them to give it a go.
Please ensure that the firmware is up to date as well.
Good day.

Thanks a lot for your help, but I've already decided that I'm going to send it back, it is too much of a hassle for something I already can almost achieve with wifi, but thanks a lot for helping me fix the issue.
Have a good day
