Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 190412 Rel.66770n

Hi TP Link community,

My new MR600 doesn't connect to my ISP, Three UK, on 4G+. My phone and tablet both connect to Three UK on 4G+ using carrier aggregation of bands 1 + 3. The MR600 only connects at 4G on either band 1 or band 3, but never both. Signal is good and there's only one base station of note.

This MR600 works correctly with the ISP EE, using bands 3 + 7 for 4G+ connection. But since it is advertised in the UK as being a "4G+ router", it needs to work with all major networks.

Please would TP Link provide an updated ISP file or firmware that fixes this? Else I will need to return the device. Since Three UK only used B3 and B20 before 2017 and only introduced carrier aggregation in 2019, I'm hoping that TPLink's ISP config file is just outdated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re:MR600 - not compatible with Three UK 4G+-Solution

Hi all,

To get the 4G+ connection, the carrier aggregation should work first.

For now the Archer MR600 supports band 3+7, while it does not support band 1+3 yet, that is why the MR600 with Three sim card cannot get 4G+ connection.

You can contact Three to verify whether they support other carrier aggregation bands and confirm whether they can change to another one supported by MR600.

Besides, you can adjust the location of the router and its antenna to improve its performance.

May it help.

@Andrew_R_082

Compared to the firmware upgrade, it is more related to the hardware limitation.

While we will forward it to our product engineer and they will evaluae the feasibility considering the large amount of Three sim card users.

You can keep an eye on official website for more updates.

@yaughan Thank you for flagging this, like you I'm sure many of us i the UK use 3 (three) as our 4G network provider and the 4G+ potential for addiitonal speed is one of the reaosns I'd planned ot buy the latest MR600 unit.

Support, I look forward to hearign if there is indeed an updated firmware or connfig file as per the OP request / Question. (if there is I plan to purchase shortly)

NB. I'm also interested in how you can put this router into 'bridge mode', as I have a alternative solutiuon for wifi.

@yaughan

HI, I also have 2 MR600 routers using Three UK Sim cards in  4G+ area and have not been able to connect to the 4G+

This is extremely frutrating as the speed on the router is less than half what i can get on my phone.. so not worth paying for a 4G+ router at all unless TP LINK can offer a firmware or ISP file that will enable the Carrier aggragation on the three network

@pMR600  I have found the position and angle of the antenna on thd router is very sensitive, if you know the location of the mast, make sure the router is in the most direct window and the antenna are rotated to be flat..

Also do you have the 4g+ icon light on on the router?

@pMR600

its very much dependant on where your cell tower is.. i have the antenna virtical and flat side in the direction of the mast, but the single varies all the time..

what network are you on?

@Kevin_Z

Hi, Three doesn't use band 7,  only 1 and 3. Is there any chance this can be enabled on the router in the future? Thanks
